At the Hotel Belvedere we think "green". We make every effort to conserve nature. Numerous measures are already in place, and important projects are currently in the pipeline: Here are just a few of them:
The heat pumps heat the indoor pool area including the outdoor saltwater Jacuzzi and account for a large proportion of our hot water requirements.
Planned is additional a heat pump which will harness power from the air

Thanks to the new wood-fired power plant, Grindelwald can save on around 1,6 million litres of heating oil per year, and cut CO2 emissions by 4'300 tonnes. The first businesses were connected to the network in September 2010. The Hotel Belvedere will also be connected as soon as the new wing is constructed. At that moment, the Belvedere will no longer run on oil.
The planned solar collectors to generate electricity
Waste food is taken to a pig farm and not thrown away
Waste is separated into paper, glass, metal, vegetable matter etc.
The waste heat from the air conditioning/ventilation system is used to heat the water in the indoor pool

This year, the Swiss Quality Hotel Belvedere in Grindelwald was the first hotel in Switzerland to receive the Travelife Gold Award for outstanding efforts in the interests of sustainability.
