General Terms and Conditions of Business of the Hotel Belvedere Grindelwald AG

Arrival and departure

Please note that rooms will be ready from 15:00 on your arrival date. Please vacate your room(s) by 11:00 on the date of departure.

Cancellation conditions

Cancellations must always be made in writing. Reservations may be cancelled or changed free of charge up to 72 hours before the date of arrival. For cancellations or changes made less than 72 hours before arrival and for no-shows we charge the total cost of the booked stay.

Exceptions:

Free cancellation or change up to 7 days before the arrival date

  • mid-February to mid-March
  • Easter
  • Ascension
  • Whitsun
  • July
  • August
Free cancellation or change up to 14 days before the arrival date
  • 23 to 31 December

For reservations for this period, a down-payment of 50% of the room price must be made up to 14 days before the arrival date.

Reservations for 6 rooms and/or more than 25 room nights as well as for seminar rooms

Free cancellation or change up to 28 days prior to arrival. Up to 3 days before arrival, a maximum of 20% of the confirmed rooms can be cancelled free of charge. For later cancellations we charge the following rates:

  • up to 14 days prior to arrival: 50% of the confirmed rooms
  • up to 3 days before arrival: 80% of the confirmed rooms
  • 2 to 0 days before arrival: 100% of the confirmed rooms

For these reservations, a deposit of 50% of the room price must be paid up to 28 days before the scheduled arrival.

Early departure

For departures before the defined date of departure, the hotel is entitled to bill all reserved services up to 100%. If you wish to insure yourself against cancellation costs, you will find information as well as an application form on a cancellation insurance.

Minimum stay

Minimum stays may apply at certain times. A shortening of the reservation may then lead to the cancellation of the entire stay.

Credit card

A definitive reservation can only be made by giving a valid credit card number, which is transferred to us in encrypted form over a secure site. Your credit card is the guarantee for your reservation. However, any hotel services you use during your stay must be paid on checkout. If your credit card details are incorrect, the reservation is not valid despite automatic confirmation of reservation.

Non-refundable and early-bird rates

Reservations at reduced and early-bird (hence non-refundable) rates are subject to different cancellation and payment conditions. Your credit card is charged the total amount at the time of booking. This amount is not refunded if you change or cancel your reservation, and cannot be transferred to another reservation. We recommend taking out a cancellation insurance.

Room «Roulette»

You book your room at the best price and leave the choice of category to us. This can change until the day of arrival.

Prices and services

Prices are quoted in Swiss francs per room and cover all listed services, including VAT. Local taxes are not included in the prices and are added to your bill on checkout.

Pets

Pets are allowed in hotel rooms but are not permitted access to any of the hotel's restaurants or the spa and wellness zone. A surcharge of CHF 20 per animal and day (excluding feed) is charged for pets.

Non-smoking hotel

We are a non-smoking hotel. Smoking is not permitted in the public zones, nor in the rooms or on the balconies. Failure to observe the smoking ban in the rooms or on the balconies will be subject to a charge of CHF 200 for the additional cleaning required and for rendering the room unfit for immediate re-use. Please note that on summer evenings when dinner is served on the south terrace, smoking is only permitted from 19:00 to 22:00 on the east terrace next to the Bar.

Climate-neutral stay with myclimate «Cause We Care»

With your voluntary climate protection contribution, you are offsetting all CO2 emissions generated by your stay and supporting internationale and local sustainability measures at the same time. We will also double your contribution. This initiative is a collaboration with the Swiss myclimate foundation as part of the «Cause We Care» programme.

Restaurant «1910 · Gourmet by Hausers»

For a reservation we charge a deposit of CHF 50 per person. This deposit will be deducted from your consumption in the restaurant. If you do not make your reservation, the deposit will not be refunded. A cancellation with refund of the deposit is possible until 18:00 the day before the reservation.

Conditions
  • from 10 persons: Cancellation with refund of the deposit up to 5 days in advance at 18:00
  • from 15 persons: The restaurant must be booked exclusively. Cancellation with refund of the deposit up to 28 days in advance
  • A maximum of 2 persons can be cancelled free of charge until 9 am on the day of the reservation.

Restaurant «Belvedere»

Reserved tables will be released after 15 minutes waiting time. For reservations of 10 or more people, we charge a deposit of CHF 50 per person.

Conditions
  • from 10 persons: Cancellation with refund of the deposit up to 5 days in advance at 18:00
  • from 20 persons or exclusive booking of the restaurant: Cancellation with refund of the deposit up to 28 days in advance
  • A maximum of 2 persons can be cancelled free of charge until 9 am on the day of the reservation.

Court of jurisdiction

Contracts and business relationships entered into with the hotel are subject to the prevailing law at the hotel's location.
